Fall, Winter and Spring Music Together® semesters consist of ten weekly 45 minute classes. We strive to create a full music immersion experience for you and your little ones through the use of song, rhythmic chant, instrument play, and movement activities.
All of our teachers have collegiate degrees in Music, in addition to having completed the Music Together Intensive Teacher Training. We are passionate about sharing the joy of music with you and your little ones! We are all mothers too, which we feel gives us a special appreciation and understanding of our littlest learners!
All of our classes are mixed age classes for children 0-5 years, because part of the Music Together philosophy is to create an environment where children can develop their musical abilities at their own pace, without expectations tied to their age. Research has found that this model provides rich experiences for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers alike! It also allows siblings to participate in classes together, fostering a love of family music making!
Our classes are non-performance based. We believe that young children learn best through play, and that the most important role models for young children are the adults who love them the most!
Our individual classes truly become a musical community. With each class accepting a maximum of 12 children, families have the opportunity to create intimate and lasting connections with one another. Many of our families continue through the entire three year Music Together sequence, creating long-standing social and musical friendships with one another.
In addition to the Music Together Mixed Ages program, Alley Bell Music is also pleased to offer these musical opportunities for our growing learners:
K-2 Music Fundamentals For Homeschoolers: This class is not affiliated with the Music Together curriculum. Through weekly forty-five minute drop-off classes, children will continue on their musical journey learning age appropriate musical concepts through instrument play, songs, chants, musical games, and creative movement! Students will also learn about famous composers and the instruments of the orchestra, as well as be introduced to basic music theory concepts. This class is limited to 12 students, and is taught by a teacher who holds a degree in K-12 Music Education. The curriculum of this class is structured to meet the Essential Academic Learning Requirements for Music in WA state, and weekly lesson summaries are available on request to homeschooling parents. Students will conclude each semester with an informal presentation for parents and guests.
Private Voice Instruction: Students ages 10 and up are invited to pursue private voice instruction with Sarah Richàrd. Sarah has been teaching private voice for 17 years, and holds a B.M. in Music Education from Western Washington University as well as an M.M. in Voice Pedagogy from Texas Christian University. Students learn a variety of classical, folk and musical theater repertoire, with the focus being on creating a healthy and sustainable singing voice, and learning audition and performance skills. Lessons are given in weekly 30 minute increments, with the option of 60 minute lessons for advanced singers. To inquire about lesson availability, please contact Sarah at firstname.lastname@example.org.
