Our early childhood music classes are non-performance based. We believe that young children learn best through play, and that the most important role models for young children are the adults who love them the most! In the online model, while we are using Facebook Live, pre-recorded video and Zoom to lead class, it is important to note that we are on screen to facilitate and guide the adults in face to face musical play with their child-in fact, with our littlest learners, we recommend that they face you instead of the screen! Interactive play facilitated via the screen is quite different than passive screen time!
All of our Music Together® and Rhythm Kids teachers have collegiate degrees in Music, in addition to having completed the Music Together Intensive Teacher Training. We are passionate about sharing the joy of music with you and your little ones!
Our individual classes truly become a musical community. Many of our families continue through the entire three year Music Together sequence and then move onto Rhythm Kids, creating long-standing social and musical friendships with one another.
In addition to the Music Together program, Alley Bell Music is also pleased to offer these musical opportunities for our growing learners:
Private Voice Instruction: Students ages 8 and up are invited to pursue private voice instruction with Sarah Richàrd. Students learn a variety of classical, folk and musical theater repertoire, with the focus being on creating a healthy and sustainable singing voice, and learning audition and performance skills. Lessons are given in weekly 30 minute increments. To inquire about lesson availability, please contact us at email@example.com.
Private Piano Instruction: Dr. Jessica Schroeder maintains her private piano studio at Alley Bell Music. Lessons are available to ages 5 and up. To inquire about private lessons with Jessica, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Private Recorder Lessons: Students ages 8 and up are invited to join guest teacher Rowena Morgan, teaching virtually from her studio in California. Beginning Ukulele Classes: Students ages 7 and up are invited to register for these fun nine week courses with Mariah Fraser. You'll be strumming in no time! Register through our website.
The logical "next step" in musical development after Mixed Ages classes! For ages 4-8. Djembe drum encouraged, but a box or tabletop works too! Tuition includes a weekly 30 minute Zoom class, recorded for on demand viewing, plus a weekly pre-recorded class, songbook, CD and digital downloads, and an invitation to our end of semester Zoom Dance Party.
Rhythm Kids Online guides children toward developmentally appropriate music and movement activities, where they can begin to take charge, lead others, and be musically creative, as they:
make up their own drumming patterns
invent new ways to play rhythm instruments (shakers, sticks, etc.)
create movement ideas for songs
and even take a drum solo!
Your child will:
Explore the world of rhythm through movement, instrument play, and song
Develop basic rhythm skills, like keeping beat, improvising, ensemble play, and soloing
Learn to create, cooperate, and express themselves musically
